Gabe picked up the silverware and began to eat, he wasnt the most proper when it came to eating, his elbows were on the table....but it wasnt like he ate with his mouth open and chewed like a cow. The food was delicious and he was thoroughly enjoying it " Wow, this food is really good " he said pausing for a moment and taking another gulp of his wine, he topped both of their glasses off and gave the empty bottle to the waiter.

Marissa also picked up her fork and began to eat. She ate slowly, properly, after she polished off the glass of wine that Gabe just poursed her, and, though she knew she had too mch to drink, she still behaved well, for now. Actually, unless someone knew what to look for, it would be impossible to notice that she was quite tipsy. Smiling back at Gabe, her pupils dilated by wine, she nodded. Ye-s, it's really quite..wonderful. She murmered, only slightly slurring the first word. On some subconcious level, she knew she was close to being fully drunk, so, instead of reaching for her wine glass again, she took the glass of water, and sipped at it gingerly, trying to level the affects of the wine, trying to salvage the last bit of her sense.

-lalalalala after their done eating-
Gabe wiped his mouth with the napkin and put his silverware and napkin on his plate, he swallowed down the last bit of the wine and put his glass down. He stretch his arms up inthe air and sighed, his stomach was full. The lighting dimmed at bit and the evening set in, soon a band of instrumentalists adjourned to the small stage. They began to play slow soothing music. Gabe needed to get up moving if he was going to stay awake during the slow music, he coughed and looked across the table. " Hey you wanna get out of here? " he asked smiling.

Marissa smiled slowly, glad for the opportunity to leave before she made a fool out of herself. Right now wasn't the time, or the place to be drunk. Surely that wouldn't make a good impression on Gabe, and it wasn't a good way to get a good name in a new town. Graciously, she nodded, still smiling softly. Despite the joy of being out with Gabe, she was wanting to go home and release herself from the constrictions of the dress she was wearing. It had been the first time in about a year that she had dressed up so well, and she still wasn't used to it. She wasn't sure if she ever would be. She stood up gracefully, and smoothed her dress, replacing the napkin on the plate.

Gabe threw a few bills on the table and walked over to her, taking her hand and walking towards the exit of the restaurant. He walked towards his truck and opened the door for her, then got in it himself. " I wanna show you something " he said as they pulled away in the truck. He drove for a bit and pulled up to an area overgrown with vegetation " We have to walk from here " he said getting out and opening the door for her. He took her hand and led her into the shrubs, it was dark but Gabe was confident and knew where he was going....he hoped that she trusted him and could tell that.

Marissa smiled and followed him out of the restraunt and into the truck. She didn't say anything, for no words could tell how she felt. She wasn't worried as he led her through the forest, for, in a way, she was at home in the dark dense vegetation that loomed around them. Suddenly, curiousity bubbled through her. What is it, Gabe? She asked softly, her voice slightly husky as she watched him instead of the trail. She picked her way easily, slowing down as her high heels made walking the rugged path dangerous. Despite the trail, she was smiling, her eyes darting to Gabe every moment.

" Shhh " he said placing his fingers to his lips as he slowed his walk a bit, the dense vegetation cleared a bit and salty air could be smelled and even tasted. The ocean soon came into veiw and a cliff about 20 feet tall lay ahead of them, it look over the ocean, beach, and a small glint of light from the town could just barely be seen in the distance. He led her up to the cliff, which was very simple to climb, and lay on his stomach. He motioned for her to do the same and again put his fingers to his lips and said softly " Lay still and wait for them " he added. His eyes glittered with eagerness as he stared at the beach that disappeared into darkness.

Excitement ran thickly through Marissa, and she followed quicker, her pace hurried and silent. She sensed the urgency of the situation, the pure joy that ran through Gabe and, that alone was enough to cause silence. She forgot completely about the dress and moved swiftly, twisting easily through the brush, not making a sound as she had been taught. Despite the awkwardness of her heels, she ran up and lay down beside him, watching the beach, knowing something phenomenal would happen. All of the wine seemed to drain from her mind, clearing the fog that had held her spell-bound. Turning her cheek until it lay against the stone, she watched Gabe's eyes light with excitement. Silently, she reached over, find his hand and lacing her fingers through it. She squeezed it lightly, smiling, then turned back to watch the scene and see what would happen. Her smile never faded.

All was silent and as if spell was caste there was a flicker in the distance, and i silent rumbling became louder as the sound of hooves thudding against sand mimicking the thudding of Gabes heart. Then not only was their sound but the moons shadow disappeared and and a herd suddenly appeared, sorrels, chestnuts, bay, paints, and grullas. All the colors that you could think of appeared as a large herd stormed the beach. And leading them was a large Grey stallion, he seemed like a ghost in the dark....

Marissa leaned forward, inconciously squeezing Gabes hand. Suddenly, the herd appeared, and her heart and breath was swept with them. She leaned closer, her turquoise colored eyes following the gray relentlessly. He was beautiful, more handsome than any other stallion she had ever seen, and, more wild as well. Elation filled her, making speech impossible, but no amount of joy could hold back her actions. Giggling softly, she turned, planting a gentle, but excited kiss on Gabe's cheek. Her eyes lingered on his face for a moment, then she turned back to the gray, watching him eagerly, drinking in his graceful movements.

The horses grazed just below the cliff, were the soil was sandy but more fertile and a little grass strived. It was perfectly in their view, the grey however trotted majestically towards the water. The salty sea water splashed his features and sea foam covered his chest as he stood in the knee deep water. Gabe stared perplexed at the grey stallion, he seemed to be a breed of his own. From Gabes many nightime experiences out here he had come to know the many ways of this phantom stallion. Like his speed and skill matching those of both throughbreds and quarter horses, his endurance matching if not exceeding that of an Arabian, his strength rallying against the forces ofthe drafts, and his agility far exceeding that of any warmblood he had seen in the show jumping, cross country, or dressage ring. In the back of his mind Gabe wanted this horse so badly, from watching him he guessed he was 5....but with the horses skills already the only feat would be to tame him. Gabe returned with a gentle squeeze and smiled at her he cupped his hand over his mouth and whispered in her ear silently " Soon that phantom stallion will be mine " he said as soft as a breath. He didnt know how, for he had only seen the herd on the beach at night and could never find out where they went during the day, but soon he would be his.

Marissa lay silent, her body going cold when Gabe whispered those words. Her eyes stayed on the stallion, but they saw none of his majesty now, instead they saw his ferocious love of freedom, a wildness that wouldn't be tamed. Fear's icy claws unfurled in her stomach, reaching out to grab her heart. She was certain, for a second, that her heart stopped beating. Suddenly, she wanted to jump up and scream, frightening the stallion into flight so that he would never have a chance to hurt Gabe, but, instead, she lay silent. She had heard the hopefulness in his voice, the pride. No matter what, she couldn't take that away, it wasn't her place. Her eyes never left the gray.

Marissa glanced at Gabe, terror still gripping her tightly. She knew that he had seen the look, but she wasn't sure how he had felt about it. It wasn't as if she didn't believe that he could do it, it was just that she was terrified that he would and end up injured or dead. She had just started to fall for him, she couldn't have him taken away so soon. She knew he probably wouldn't understand, so she said nothing, instead, she crawled backwards, silently, until the horses couldn't hear her or see her. She didn't think of the fact that her dress was completely ruined, or that Gabe might want to know where she was going, she simply rose to her feet and disappeared up the trail, moving silently.
