Well today we moved the horses to our new stable and my step dad took Beauty out. Well her foot got stuck on the divider and she was freaking out and she cut her leg right to the bone and I'm bawling because I think that Beauty broke her leg and she's going to have to be put down. Well I run to Theresa and I'm freaking out and saying "I think my horse got a broken leg! CALL THE VET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and I'm crying at the same time hoping that Beauty won't die. thingy(The owner of the barn) called every GOOD vet in town but he couldn't get a hold of them, so we had to call the vet that I don't like. Yes, he's an OK vet but he's not nice to the horses. He stitched one of the cuts up but the rest were surface and one was so scratched up that he couldn't(the cut that went down to the bone). Well I'm here crying telling my step dad that I hate him and that he's paying for it because he hurt her. I'm crying on Beauty and my mom, at this point I just want to die because I feel as if I have nothing to live for. Well after all the stitching was done, he bandaged her up and gave her penicilin and some bute. He also gave us some bute to give her. He said she has to stay in a stall for a week and then she can go in these little round pens they have at the stable for horses that are going to go to shows the next day, so we're giong to put her in that in about 1-2 weeks time. thingy is so nice though. Instead of charging us, he let us use the stalls for free. He understands how we felt and he said that he's seen worse than that. It'll take 1 month to heal and a month to get the hair back. I won't be able to show or jump or for a while, which is fine with me, as long as she gets better. Keep her in your thoughts or prayers. If your horse bucks or kicks just love him/her no matter what, because one day they might not be there. I'm crying as I'm writing this. Thanks for reading. If I don't get replies, I don't care but I need to get this out my system.

OMG, that's soooooo sad. I'm sorry to say that I don't understand how it feels to be in a situation like that. My mare Millie and her foal Miss Independent don't seem to be 'accident prone'. And I don't think my old mare Suzie moves around enough to get hurt. But it's great that Beauty will be alright! We'll understand if you're not on, and keep you in our prayers as Arty says.

UpdateWe've been giving her bute and some penicillin every day and she's really improving fast. The skin is really healing and she can walk around and she only limps a little. Yesterday she saw our other horse Sylkeh and was rearing and neighing and walking around in her stall because she was so happy. Today she saw Moses and she was really happy. She won't eat treats out of my hand though, but that was probably because she had just had some bute I had given her. I'll be able to ride Beauty in a month or so, I'll find out for sure once Beauty's stitches come out in a week. Her leg isn't hot anymore and the swelling has really gone down. We bought new bedding for her so she'll be more comfortable. I walked her around the arena today and put her in a small pen so she could get some fresh air. She was neighing flirting with some stallions! Thanks guys for being sympathetic i'll keep you updated on her.
