Alison sat deep as they mosyed along the trail.Itwasbeautiful here,the green grass mad the horses want to stop and eat.Beside Alison was Lindsay atop of Chad.The stallion looked sad everytime Lindsay bumped him on when he tried to eat grass.Chad would do anything for lindsay,they were so close.Lindsay's riding was amazing,She was younger then Alison and she had taught Alli to ride.Maggie was happy just to be out on the trail,she was one of the most behaved horses ever.She would do anything you asked.Ali ushally rode one of themore challenging horses,but maggie had looked so intrested in going shehad taken her.They mosied along,until they came to a thin clear stream.It was btiful brathtaking,and before making the horses go on they dismounted and let the orses drink,while they each took a sip from there water bottles.After the horses were happy they mounted up, and continued down thelong trail. They girls loved trailrides..but then again who didnt?

Colt walked slowly through the trails, inspecting the ground around him, singing softly one of the songs he wrote. His voice was deep, and handsome, yet he sang so low that the lyrics were hard to hear. His horses weren't here yet, but he prefered to go over the trails once before riding them here. Novalle was off somewhere, probably sulking because of the move, but, truthfully, even if she didn't like it, the move was best for her. This way she could get a good education, if she would actually go to school. He'd tried his best the past 8 years, she'd been 9 and he was 16 when their parents died, and he'd taken care of her, like he always did. He'd dropped out of school and got a job so he could take care of her. It had worked, for a while. Then, she started acting out, getting kicked out of school, he could hardly handle her. She was too free spirited, like he had once been himself, but death has a way of changing people, he'd grown up much too early. He was an old man by the age of 17, he'd seen too much, and the world made him hard. He was tough now, a hard man at the age of 23. He wasn't anything like he used too be, he wasn't fun-loving or mischevious. He was serious, hard, and silent. He no longer found joy in life, but in his younger sister. Other than Aztec and Valentine, she was the only thing he loved. He protected her his entire life, and he would continue too. After she'd grown up a bit, he went back to school and got his G.E.D. Then went on to become a Farrier and had a basic veterinarian training, he still had three more years before he was a licensed Vet., but, since Novalle started misbehaving, he had to stop again, and get her back on track. Life was never easy for him, but, he didn't care. He'd make sure that Novalle didn't have the same life he had. He'd make sure that she stayed young, and lived the life she was supposed to have. Now, if he could only convince her of that then they'd be on the right track. He kept walking down the trail towards where he heard a stream gurgling, he was still in the thick of the forest, and couldn't see the stream, but he heard it. Still singing, he walked into the clearing, freezing and falling silent when he spotted the two young women with their horses. He fell back a step in suprise, his mouth opened slightly, his brow furrowed quickly, a scowl leaping onto his handsome face. He crossed his arms over his thick muscular chest, and stared at the girls, how long had they been in the forest? Why hadn't he heard them before?

Lindsay heard a almost silent noise.She twisted around in her saddle,halting Chad easily at the same time.Ali halted then followed Lindsays gaze."Wow,theres actually people in this place"Lindsay said as she turned Chad around,hes beautiful black adulsion body taking long,smooth steps.Ali followed on Maggie,who took slow relaxed steps,the ushual for a Quarter Horse.Lindsay pushed chad into a jog,so ali could keep up at Maggie's trot.When they arrived at the figure,they reliszde it was a boy,or a man.Lindsey guessed he was around 24..while Ali on the other hand was to busy thinking about how hot he was.Lindsey looked over at Ali and rolled her eyes."Whats your name,Im lindsay and this is my sister Alison.But You can call her Ali,thats what I call her" Lindsay said taking a quick glance from his head to toe.he actually was pretty hot thought Lindsey,But she new not to try for him,Ali was already daydreaming about something,probably him.Lindsey said in a low voice "Ali" and Ali seemed to wake up from her day dream."arent you sick of walking by now,I'm guessing your horse wither hasnt arrived yet,or you fell off" said Lyndsay.The Ali added "We can double up on Maggie if you want..Shes pretty calm.If we do you can have the saddle,shed probably rather have me on her Butt" Ali said with a laugh.

Colt's eyes darkened as he looked the girls over slowly while thoughts ran through his head at lightning pace. They looked friendly enough, but he wasn't sure if he was looking for friends. He looked away from them and off to the right, then glanced up at the sun. Around three-thirty, he thought, amused. He looked back to the girls, his gaze narrowing to a glare at the younger girls words. I don't fall off. Ever. His voice was deep and gruff, yet his tones low. He glanced over the horses slowly, his movements almost lazy as he let his arms down and shoved his hands in the pockets of his blue jeans. Their was an almost cat-like quality about him, with his lazy yet sure movements. A strange grace drowned his movements. Anyone would be stupid to underestimate his strength. I was checking the trails, they seem alright. He said as he looked towards the older girl. She looks cute, he decided with one more narrowed glance. Name's Colton, call me Colt. With those brief words he moved towards the Quarter Horse with free, gentle movements. He ran his hand over her brow, murmering sweet endearments to her in his sweet, low voice. Suddenly, he snapped his head up, looking at the girl again, contemplating his next moves. His scowl had stayed the same the whole time. He wasn't sure what the girl was thinking but he had a basic idea. He knew that if he accepted a ride back he'd have made some friends in this strange place, but, then again, he was weary of getting involved with Alison. Women and him didn't mix too well. He had a tendency to break hearts. It was only natural too him. Many girls had fallen for his tough attitude and natural, rough looks. He rubbed his chin slowly, then, for the first time, a small grin crept onto his face. Alright, Alison. Sounds good. I'm tired of walking. He waited for the girl to adjust herself to the back of the Quarter Horse.

"good,B/c if you hadn't excepted her offer I'd have to throw you on Chad,Adn trust me youd fall off."Lindsay said,not sure how to take his comment about not falling off.In his dreams,She was a sure seated rider and shed fallen off, Her old trainer couldn't teach Lindsay for Lindsay had nothing to lear,well nothing the trainer didnt know.Lindsay found this guy snotty already,but she wouldn't say anyting to Ali,besides Ali needed to take care of herself."Let's go" said Lindsay before they were ready,she new maggie would stay behind with them,and she had no plans on taking part with this guy.Then deciding that "Colt" if that was his name,she hadnt given a fare chance,she halted comingback to her normal mature self and waited.
Ali slid back murmering to Maggie as Colt mounted."So you wanna head home,or finish the ride?" asked Ali.When Ali said that lindsay almost died..She is sooo not my sister Lindsay wanted to say but instead walked back and said"Yea,it doesnt matter to me" Said Lindsay.Lieing but hey she had to say something,besides she couldnt be rude..Shed already been rude enough."So do you ride only western?"Ali asked looking at Maggie western saddle then at Chad's english saddle.It didnt fizz her that her sister was acting diffrent..her sister never wanted to stand still.If you aint riding,then you better be doing stable chores was Lindsays favourite saying,while Ali was more like "If you aint looking for a guy,you must already ahve one" Ali was alot more city then Lindsay,Ali lvoed horses but come on what girl isnt atracted to a guy?Ali was mature..for themost part.Lindsay was serious,Lindsay's child hood had been shortened while Ali seem ed to still be living hers.

As soon as Ali was far enough on the back of the horse, he sprung into the saddle with one quick movement, all of his muscles working at once. He'd rode since before he could remember, he couldn't remember a time when he hadn't been riding, or thinking about riding. He glanced at the younger girl, amused by her attitude, yet, he wasn't gonna do anything to make it better. He was arrogant, and he'd had a right to be. He'd grown up on the back of a horse and had never thaken a fall. He'd gentled his first mustang when he was 12 and had been doing it since then. He'd never been thrown from a horse, and he was certain that he never would be. He knew all the tricks when it came to training horses, and it showed in his movements. He was cconfident and sure around horses, they were one thing that he knew without a doubt. Nothing about them was a mystery to him. He'd grown up on a reservation in Texas, his grandfather, Old Horsecatcher taught him everything that could be known about horses. He had reasons to be thingyy, and he knew it. Without missing a step, he gently urged the Quarter Horse ahead, quickly catching up with the Andalusian. He frowned again at the younger girl. He liked her attitude, but he wasn't going to show it. I ride whatever's on the horses back. Mostly, I ride bareback, but I prefer Western to English. He said with a smirk as he slowed the mare beside the Andalusian. He already liked Alison, she seemed levelheaded enough, yet he doubted he'd get along with Lindsay.

"Amusing,Im the other way around,but hey im a total Chris Irwin Girl so that coudl be the diffrence" said Lindsay.Lindsaythought this guy was very aarrogant,but she actually kinda liked it,but no way in a million years would she tell him that!She thought about her riding abilties..Obviously she was good since she had recieved a gold level trainer from chris Irwin at the age of 16,becoming on of his Favourites.She was totally into his methods,and anybody who didnt refer tothem,would not ride her horses.The horses Ali rode she let fly,But if anyone touched her horses with anything besides a dressage crop,shed hurt them.She was tought,Sh had fought many guys back in NY,and broke even more fiery stallions.Lindsay had guts,and an attitude when she wanted.She enjoyed flirting,but enjoyed swaoing smart remarsk with people better,Therefore wasushally single but phh Ali had enough bpyfriends..they always seemed to walk over her.But then again she spit them out after the first date if they werent suitable.Lindsay wasn't sure about Colt..He seemed a little iffy.He seemed so muchlike her,argumentitive and he believed what he believed while Ali was just so..whatever.But phh,like Lindsay shoudl be comparing herself to colt..since they were strangers to each other."Got any siblings,that arent so argumentitve?"Lindsay asked sarcasticly waiting for him to reply with something like "In your Dreams" or something stupid.They came to a small river and Lindsay said to the two love birds as she decided to call them,even thow they werent reallu but oh well"Im gonna jump the river,is that okay?Chad needs jumping practice,and besides he goes threw rivers easily." Lindsay brought Chad into a well collected canter adn jumped perfectly over the river."good boy" she murmered to Chad as she halted and waited for Maggie,Colt and Ali.Lindsay did have to comment that he kept maggie very forward,espically compared to Ali.Hed be good at dressage thought Lindsay.But whatev,it was his life not hers."So how do you like it here so far"Ali asked.Lindsay heard her from the other side and wanted to role her eyes out of her head.Ali was soo shy,yet so strange.God forbid she ask a horsey question..A thought drifted into her mind and it was Colt the tought cowboy holding shoping bags in Ny..like all the other boyfriends Ali had had.Lindsay justchuckled wondering what Colt really thought of Ali..If hey went out,Ali would probably have to change.alot.Lindsay was actually starting to lik Colt..him and his stuborn attitude.He was so much like her..so mature,so stubborn.She realized second by second she was likeing Colt more..and not just as friends.Ohh great,just what i need a crush on a guy Ali has the hots for thought ali,just great.

Colt easily pulled Maggie to a stop, and circled her back, then, aiming her towards the creek, he glanced over his shoulder at Alison, a smirk on his face. Then he nudged Maggie into a canter with his knees. He was a hard man when it came to people, but he'd never hit a horse even with a crop. He figured if you were a good enough rider you wouldn't need a crop anyways. Maggie cleared the creek, but barely. He decided not to jump her anymore, because two people was a big load, even for a Quarter Horse. He turned to Lindsay when she spoke, his eyes suddenly clouding and he glanced up at the sun. Four o' clock He looked back at her again. I've got a sister. He said gruffly as he nudge Maggie into a walk. He listened to Lindsay, she reminded him of his sister. His eyes softened at the thought of Novalle, but he soon grew serious again. It's not bad, the schools good. They have good teachers. He said softly, his eyes wandering around the woods.

Ali after almost landing in the creek wasnt sure what to thinkof this guy..she liked colt but she didnt know about him.He seemed...to daring.She was debating in her head what she thought of this guy..Lindsay seemed to like him..at leastas a friend.She hadnt galloped off so she obviously thougth he was ok..besides it was a privilage if Lindsay would tease you,if anything a normal person would get fliped the bird and told to F off.Lindsay was tought,but then again who isnt when they grow up in NY?Ali decided to let Lindsay talk..she was still debating about this guy.
Lindsay smiled at him actually responding with a normal sentance.Mayeb there was hope of a person underneath his stubborness."Nie jump,you have talent I must say" Lindsay said.Ali almost fell off at that moment..Lindsay give a compliment to someone who wasnt a student?!?! wow,something was weird..very weird.It was like Lindsay had just bought a dress for no reason,gicinv a complimint was not the normal lindsay."Maybe we should hang out,eat some pizza or something so we can get to know your sister?If your okay with that..."Lindsay said...hoping she wsntbeing mean or anything."Yea,i've heard alot about the school,Its gotta be alot better then the school i went to.."Lindsay said thinking about the past...getting suspended all the time..until her parents died.Then she had turned good,all for Ali.By now Ali was holiding on to the saddle bags for dear life.Lindsay commetn about her past..that was ushally something lindsay avoided.There has to be something in this water Ali decided.Lindsay was happy to see the Chad was a good rider..he didnt hurt is horse,he used his natural aids.Something lindsay was totally in tune with.The only thing lindsay used was a dressage crop..and not hard but to show the horse that she was the herd leader b/c something she followed by was A horse likes to be puchsed,it wants to know your the leader.

Colt found it useless to fight with a 1000 pound animal. He wasn't the boss, the horse was the one doing all the work, he was just along for the ride. He always taught his horses that he was a partner, one that could be tough, but hardly ever was. He didn't stand for his horses misbehaving, and he had his own was of teaching them that what they were doing was wrong. He flashed a smile at Lindsay. I know. Suddenly at the mention of his sister, his smile turned to a frown. Novalle was known for getting in trouble, that was just what she did now. He wasn't sure that he wanted her hanging out with anyone here. But he knew that he wouldn't be able to control her forever. She was too spirited, and, if she was going to be hangin out with anyone, he'd rather it be someone he already met. Yeah, maybe. He said sullenly as he looked up at the sun again. He had too admit, he was actually having a good time. He nudged Maggie into a walk and then glanced back at Ali. Are you all right? He asked gruffly, not sure what too say to her. Maybe she was just shy, a lot of girls were shy, he reasoned. But she looked as if she'd just seen the most remarkable and horrifying thing ever. What was so suprising? He wondered.

"im fine",she said looking at her white hands from griping the saddle bags so she wouldn't fall off..afterwhat lindsay haddone she almost wanted to get home,she new these two were enjoying the ride,but she was almost dieing.compliments,revealing part of her pat..What was happening to Lindsay...moving here was not a good idea.Her hand sliped from swet and hit the sadle."ouch,i think i just broke a nail"said Ali.Lindsay rolled her eyes and said"Get a grip Ali,Your not in New York anymore,your not a prep".Ali looked shocked..she couldn't believe lindsay."Well if you hadnt draged me here I would be in ney york" screamed ali at lindsay.Lindsay looked at chad and said with her eyes,Im so sorry for her behavour.Lindsay steping up to her ushual role said in a depp voice,meaning she was dead serious to Ali"Ride yourself home,your acting like a 10 year old!" she took a breath and back to her normal tone said to Colt"Sorry Colt,You can dismount and hop up onto Chad's back..Ali needs to go home".Ali furious now looked at lindsay with a killer stare.She waited,totally annoyed for Colt to Dismount.Once he was gone she slid quickly into her seat and galloped off not even looking back.once she was gone,in her cloud of dust Lindsey looked at chad apoligetically and said"Sorry for her behavior,I hope you dont mind riding behind me,Chad tends to get wound up when somebody else isin command".Lindsay dismounted so Colt could get up easier.She felt so bad for Ali's behavior.Man she was such a whiner..especially for being 21.she acted more like 12.Lindsay shook her head,at least she could enjoy the trail ride now.

Colt stood there watching as the dust settled, he pulled off his hat and ran a hand through his dark black hair. He sighed and looked up at Lindsay. She looked much too old to be so young. He shook his head and jammed his hat back on his head. Sorry. Some girls just aren't cut out for this life. His voice was low and filled with memories. He'd been wrong about Alison, she hadn't been his type at all. Then, he moved over to the Andalusian stallion, stroking him softly as he crooned too him, his voice steady and low, full of reassurance. Then, he moved to his side, mounting with his same sure movements. He reached a hand down to help the girl up. Your actin' older than she was. Though your obivously a bit younger. How old are you anyhow? He said as he waited for her to mount, with or without his help.

Lindsay having no problem mounting by herself,even thow most times she was stubborn was softening..amazingly.She grabbed his hand,it was warm and sweaty,but strong."She didnt wanna move here..she was in love with her life before.She hung out with the rich people,and had more dresses then I did in wardrobe."Lindsay said faintly."She always acted her shoe size,She tends to be a snot.The first thing she siad when we arrived was Thankgoodness thers a mall.."Lindsay then added" im 19..not that youd now it" Lindsay said.She thought man hes soo not Ali's type,more like.....mine.I picked up the reins,and asked for asoft walk from chad."Its soo beautiful here...It reminds me of those romance novels that I read when im bored..that I've shoved in a box now."I was so happy,especially since the way Ali had acted I started amiling,not the small faint smile I ushally had,but one that actually made my face light up.Evnev thow I had more then just friend feelings for Colt,being his friend would be amazing.He justmade me ..smile.I started singing lowly a song I new well" You can spend you whole life building,something from nothing,and one big stomr can come and blow it all away,build it anyways.."

Colt was slightly shocked by Lindsay's maturity. She wasn't anything like he thought she'd be. For the first time that day, Colt laughed. It was a soft, handsome sound. Yeah, she sure does. He said as he held onto her waist. The Andalusian had a very smooth walk, unlike some other Andalusians he used to ride. He listened to her sing, but didn't join in. Even though he had a great voice, he didn't sing in front of anyone but his sister and his horses. In his own way he was shy in a boyish way.

Lindsay laughed relxing into his warmstrong hands as he griped her waste.He was an amazing laugh thought Lindsay.Lindsays waste swung freely with Chad's walk,not wanting to brag but she asked camly,hoping not to seem like a brager"Isnt his walkso amazing?"She contiued to sing softly,"You can cahse a dream, that seems so outta reach,but you know might not ever come your way,Dream it anyways."Lindsay loved singing,but shed never song in front of anyone..until know.she couldn't believ how relaxed she felt..so Free.
