Kjersten smiled. "Well my white name is Kjersten but I kept my last name which is Red Earth. My Sioux Name is White Eagle." She spoke softer than Reno had. He was really kind. She was a bit jealous of Reno because his name actually had horse in it. Her parents had horse names, her mother's name was Black Mare and her father was Chief Paint Horse.

Reno smiled, laughing softly. Yeah, I took my grandfathers name, Nahashe, when he died, I couldn't stand Tyler Reno Rogers, which was what the lady from the Social Security office wanted to name me. I let her have Tyler, and Reno was the town I was born in, so I could allow that too, but Rogers was too much. So I took Nahashe instead. He said, all traces of his shyness gone. His mother had been Solemn Vixen, his father, Half Stag. His father had been half white, half Cheyenne, but his tribe accepted him, since his father was chief, but when his father had died, they kicked Reno out, as if he was a mutt, simply because his eyes were gold when they should have been brown, or black. They no longer cared that he was the direct descendent of Sitting Bull, one of the greatest chiefs of all times, his eyes were different, and that was all that mattered to them.

She nodded and replied, "I hate that America makes you change your name. What's wrong with our original names? Yes, Rogers is way too much. I had a hard time keeping my last name too." She finally knew someone that understood. It was so nice.

Reno nodded absently, not knowing what too say. He'd never met anyone off the reservation that knew what he meant when he said that America wasn't as free as they thought it was. I guess they have to have it for social security and such, maybe my Cheyenne name was too strange for them. He laughed at the thought, he knew many white people that had much stupider names, but he didn't say anything.

Katie laughed, "Maybe my Sioux name was too strange for them too! I'm surprised they let me keep my last name! It is strange. The Americans have stranger names than we supposively do but they do not go and change their names. I do not understand why people think America is actually a free country. It doesn't seem like it." She replied thinking about when she moved from the reservation, how much trouble the white men had caused her.

Reno's smile widend. I was just thinking the exact same thing! I met a guy a few years back named Calebadon! I could hardly pronouce his name, yet he laughed because my name was too hard to say for him. Sometimes I wonder how I ever left the reservation... He said softly as he thought back.

She looked at her horse and then at Reno again. She giggled. "Me too, but it is always nice to discover something new." She replied.

Reno chuckled. Yeah, I guess it is. He smiled as he patted the stallinos muscular neck. The stallion shifted softly, but froze when Reno put pressure on the other side of his neck. The stallion snorted and stepped sideways, running his nose along the mares shoulder as he nickered encouragingly. He nipped softly at her mane as he moved closer to her, snorting and nickering in turn.

Kawasaki nudged the stallion nickering and snorting back. She walked over to the stallion and started grooming his neck in affection. The girl giggled as the two love birds snorted at each other. They must really like each other!" She commented.

Reno laughed. I think he likes just about any female. He joked as he swatted the stallion's neck affectionately. The stallion turned his head, and eyed him reproachfully before he turned back to the mare and nibbled at her mane, as if to say "only pretty females. " Reno just chuckled and patted the stallion again.

Kjersten laughed and hugged Kawasaki. She was so sweet and funny. There was nothing really to say. Her actions had said it all. Kawasaki looked at her sweetly and continued nibbling at the stallion's neck.

Reno sat still, embracing the silence. He normally wasn't one to talk a lot, and he was certain that that was the longest conversation that he had ever had. He smiled as he moved the stallion away from the mare, chuckling as the stallion ignored him and moved closer to the mare's neck, nipping her a little short of harshly.

Kjersten was embarrased. She did not like dead silence at all. It made her embarrassed. She smiled at Kawasaki as she groomed the stallion's mane. "We should meet again some time." She replied in Sioux.

Reno nodded. If you ever need an interpreter, or someone to talk to in Sioux, just ask around, I'll come quick. He replied before he tightened his legs on the stallions barrel. He nudged him into a gallop down the trail. He hadn't said goodbye, for he didn't believe in goodbyes.

Kjersten smiled and replied in Sioux, Thanks!" and galloped off on Soldier.
