Marissa sputtered as she reached the surface, struggling to keep the afloat as she looked around for Moon. She was almost to the bank, playing with Blue. Strange words flowed from her mouth as she spoke to Moon in an urgent tone of her Cheyenne families. Yet they were words, quite. They were more like sounds, all of the representing something. Nevertheless, they tumbled from her mouth in a harsh, loud voice.
Moon swirled at the sound, turning serious in a second, plunging through the water in a hurried frenzy to reach her desperate owner. She reached Marissa so quickly that it was almost as if she had never left.
Marissa clung to Gabe, holding his head above water and closer to her soaked self than she realized. Suddely, with one more word, Moon dove beneath the water, under Gabe, when she resurfaced he was strangely positioned on her back, then she waited until Marissa pulled herself on, holding Gabe upright with every muscle in her slender bodice. They reached the bank quickly and Moon lay down, waiting for Marissa to pull the man off her back.
Marissa pulled him off quickly, standing over him before she started shaking him lightly. Gabe?!? Gabe, are you alright? Her voice was urgent, but not panicked, despite the bad situation. She had been a lifeguard three summers ago, but her training had stayed with her.

Gabe coughed and spit up water and sat up for a moment coughing hard. He breathed in hard, coughing at the same time, trying to catch his breath. He felt the lump on his head from where he had hit his head on a stone at the bottom of the creek.
Blue trotted over to the group and lowered his head to Gabe, he licked his head and played with his hair with his lips.
(ok, im gonna say that he really was drowning...cause i dont wanna make him seem like a jerk for scaring her)

(hee hee, lol, kkz)
Marissa knelt beside him, placing both hands on either side of his head, tilting it up to the light, watching his pupils closely, trying to make certain that he didn't have a concussion. They reacted normally, she she released her grip on him, sitting back on her heels, putting a bit of distance between them. She still watched him, assessing his condition with an expierenced eye. You alright? She drawled softly, looking him over.
Moon rose, shaking slightly and walking over to stand a few feet away, her head hanging low. She expected to be in trouble for playing when Marissa needed her. She stood silently, waiting to see what would happen.

Gabe coughed roughly and rubbed his head " Yeah....i think so " he said. He looked up, pure gratefulness was in his eyes " Thank you " he said softly as he sat up a little more. The world had stopped spinnign and he could now see straight.
Blue put his muzzle on Gabes shoulder, he sighed blowing warm breath on Gabe.

Marissa nodded brusquely as she rose to her feet, watching him still. Did'ya hit your head? She asked softly, turquiose eyes staring at him, wondering if he was really going to be okay. Do you need a doctor? She said, glancing around for the first time, realizing that they were many, many miles from no where, probably didn't have any phone service anyways, which wouldn't matter if they did because Marissa didn't have a cell phone.

" No i think i'll be fine " he said rising to his feet. He wobbled as the world began to spin wildly again. He stumbled and began to sit back down " Maybe i should sit down for a while " he said sitting back on the ground.
Blue nickered softly, standing loyaly by his owner.

She nodded, standing still, all playfulness gone from her stature, now she was the calm nurse that she had trained so hard to be. She glanced at the stallion, admiring his loyalty to his owner, then glanced at Moon, who only lowered her head more, looking as if she was more miserable than the dizzy man that sat on the ground. Then, Marissa's eyes fell on the campsite. She bent down and grabbed Gabe's arm gently. Come on, I'll help you to your camp, then you can lay down for a while. She said as she waited for him to stand, prepared to help him stand and walk.

Gabe grabbed Marissa's hand and also grabbed Blues mane, he pulled himself up. Again the work started spinning but he steadied himself, putting most of his weight on Blue. He slowly took a step, then another soon they were at his campsite. Gabe sat down again a tree and sat for a moment, then he reached over to the pile of sticks he had gathere earlier and began to make a fire, as he noticed that the sun was slowly starting to sink the in the sky. He grabbed his flint and steel from his saddle bag that was layig nearby and sparked up a small fire. He seemed to feel fine as long as he was sitting down, but once he stood his work spun. He grabbed his wife beater shirt and put it on.
Blue helped walk him to the campsite and wandered off a few steps to graze.

Marissa helped him as much as she could, watching him as he made his fire, wondering if she should leave, and, if she did, if he would be alright. She watched him as he moved jerkily, seeming to be in pain whenever he stood up. Are you sure your okay? She asked again, looking at him worriedly.
Moon soon forgot being in trouble and she followed Blue, stopping beside him, grooming his withers as if she had known him his entire life.

Gabe nodded " I think... " he said as he looked out as the last bit of the sun disappeared over the horizon. His mind seemed woozy again and he felt disoriented " Do you...maybe i could...we could...take you out to dinner.... " he said as his eyes rolled back in his head. He blacked out and leaned back agianst the tree, he breathed easily but darkness came over him and put him in a deep sleep.
Blue raised his head and began to groom the mares withers and back.

Marissa watched him as he spoke, smiling softly at the sweet words, but when he fell backwards and unconcious she sat down beside him, pulling him down so he was laying down, resting his head in her lap as she began singing softly to him a song that she had heard when she was young. Rocking him gently back and forth, knowning that he was truly out.
Moon bobbed her head as she tickled his neck with her lips, playing with him softly.

Gabes world was totally black but somewhere in the back of his mind he heard the sweet song that she sang.
~The Next Morning~
Gabe awoke, his neck and head were sore but all the dizziness had gone away and he only had a slight headache. He realized that he was laying in Marissa's lap, he gingerly sat up, not wanting to wake her. His headache was gone now, he stood up and breathed out, he did not feel dizzy and did not stumble. He gathered more wood and put it on the fire. Then he went to his saddle bag and pulled out a coffee can made form tin and 2 cups. He put some water and coffee in the tin and put it on the fire. Soon he was sipping on coffee by the fire feeling like a million bucks.
Blue was laying nearby in a small patch of tall grass. His ears perked as he heard Gabe moving around. He rose and trotted to his side nickering softly to his owner, he pushed his muzzle eargely into Gabes hands.

Marissa awoke moments later to the sound of Blue's hooves on the damp grass. Her breathing did not increase though, nor did she open her eyes, she stayed exactly the same, surveying the foreign place with her ears instead of her eyes. What she heard was Gabe moving easily about, without pain, building up the fire and making coffee. Blue had come to investigate his master for the first time since last night.
Finally, knowing that all was well, her eyes sprung open and she stood from the sitting position she had slept in, her movements quick and graceful. She walked out of the tent, past Gabe, glancing around for Moon. The mare was a few yards away, sleeping still in the grass.
Marissa paced towards the mare, not greeting man or stallion from the restless night. She looked as if she hadn't slept at all, and, in truth, she hadn't. She had been too busy checking Gabe's heart beat to be sure he was still alive. Stopping beside Moon, she knelt, talking softly to her a language that was all but lost to the world. Moon soon tilted her head, then awoke laying her head in Marissa's lap. She quickly rose though as she sensed Marissa's black mood.
Marissa stroked her for a moment with fingers that were as caring as they were gentle. She soon dropped her hand at her side, turning back to walk towards the campsite with Moon at her heel.

Gabe rubbed his stubly chin, trying to remember the event of the previous night, he remembers meeting the girl and jumping in the creek....but after that its all cloudy. He looked up and watched as the girl got up without a word and then came back. He wondered if she was angry, infact she looked like she was very angry. " Good Morning....what exactly happened last night? " he asked looking up to her.
Blue snorted softly and rested his muzzle on Gabes shoulder, his hind leg was thingyed and he relaxed.

Marissa stood silent for a moment, then tilted her chin towards the sky, surveying it for signs of bad weather. She saw none. She glanced back at Gabe, knowning he didn't deserve her restlessness, or her grumpiness. A sigh past her soft lips, hissing out slowly. She shifted her legs, slowly easing into a sitting position, hiding the cramps in her back and shoulders. She tugged lightly on the ends of her own hair as she thought about his words.
Finally, her teal eyes leaped to him, silently seeking his face for memories. She turned away just as quickly, running her nervous hands through her thick, long blonde locks. I dunno. You were swimming and then you weren't. You had-have a bump on your head. I assume that from your strange behavior, last night and this morning, that it was not a pre-existing condition and that you either hit your head on something or were hit by something. She spoke clearly, assessing the situation as though it was merely another medical problem to be solved in a classroom rather than an emergency room.
You have no signs of a concussion, or any head trauma, you simply seem-seemed jolted from the incident. Her tones, again, were clear and calm, yet her eyes didn't stray to him again. Instead, they looked everywhere else but at him, she silently checked the humidity of the morning, the likeliness of catching a small fish or possibly finding a bird's nest. Then her eyes roamed over Blue, checking his condition, but she found no flaw in him, as always. Next, her restless eyes checked Moon, making certain that she was as fit as she was curious.
