amytal's eyes caught his, and she moved away, green orbs brightening with a smirk. take him. he's all yours. she laughed. josh leaned against the house groaning in agony. his eyes widened with fright as colt came closer, but he wasn't about to back up. he stood up, attempting to keep in the moans. he closed his hands into fists, preparing himself for the fight that would follow. Colt reached down and grabbed Josh with his large hand, and pulled him to his feet. Alright, Kid, lets see what ya got. He smirked menacingly as he rolled up his sleeves, his tan cast glinting in the moonlight, then he prepared himself, allowing Josh the first blow. In everything Colt did, he was fair, and the kid didn't have a fair advantage, by offering him the first punch, it should balance out, yet Colt knew it wouldn't. He was purely pissed, and Josh would pay for throwing that rock, he'd make sure of it.

josh stared down at colt before lunging out wildly at his nose. amytal watched closely. if josh got anywhere near her boyfriend, she would be hurting him as soon as she could get close enough. and her fists weren't tired yet. she was sure colt could teach josh a lesson. that colt could finally give her the revenge she had been seeking for so long. amytal was usually a nice girl. but a broken heart could turn anyone sour. Colt allowed the boy's fist to slam into his chin, grinning wildly, an animal like viciousness alighted in stark silver optics. What happened next was almost to fast to follow, Colt's movements were swift and very, very strong. He moved with the grace of a jungle cat, or a wild stallion. Either way everything about his movements were animal-like. He stepped towards the kid, his step so sure, it seemed practiced, which, in a way, it was. His hands moved like hooves, pounding the guy relentlessly as they aimed for his face time and time again. Colt's knuckles felt as if they were on fire, but rage and ferocity kept him at it. All he saw was red now and he fell into his old way. Memories flashed through his mind at lightning place, causing his punches to fly even more forcefully. Everything bad that had ever happened came to his mind, and each punch he threw was dedicated to his painful memories. He saw everything of his past as he mauled the kid time and time again, not tiring, but growing more intense in his anger. Anything that he could seem to think of only fueled the power that coiled in every bunched muscle that he used.

josh began to bleed, covering the grass with crimson stains as he screamed. amytal moved toward colt. she didn't care about josh anymore, but she cared about colt. she didn't want him to get in trouble for hurting somebody, and seeing his strength, it was evident that was probable. colt stop! she screamed, wrapping her arms around him, pulling him from josh. but it was too late. josh lay mangled on the ground, his left arm bent at an odd angle. desperately, amy pulled colt toward the truck. she pressed him against the truck, looking into his eyes pleadingly. please colt. we have to help him. she murmered. Colt hit Josh one more time before he allowed Amy to drag him to the truck. His breathing was heavy and labored and a single bruise appeared on his chin. He still saw only memories until Amy spoke again, her urgent voice broke the spell. Sweat poured of his body from the exersion. He looked down at her, his mouth slightly opened, then he looked at Josh, it was as if he saw him for the first time. I'll call an ambulance. He said as he opened the truck and began searching for his cell phone.

ooc: you know, josh has been in so many of my posts, i'm thinking about making him one of my characters. amy looked after him. hurry. she murmered, jogging over to josh. the boy stared up at her with broken eyes. amy, why? he moaned. shhh...it will be okay. just stay quiet. she said, putting her fingers to his lips before taking her bandana and tying it around his arm. don't ask where she got it, even she doesn't know. but amy...i have something to say. he pressed on. amy didn't seem to care, she was too consumed in her work. she had to stop the blood flow. what? she said subconciously. i love you. he whispered. amy moved away. please...not right now. sleep. she murmered as the medics came to take him away. she turned to colt. want to go see him? i have a feeling he needs some friends in this world.

Colt dialed the number and spoke briefly to the dispatcher. Colt stayed near the truck, until Amy came to him. He laughed harshly at her words, his eyes wary. You think he counts me as a friend right now? I'll be lucky if he doesn't have me arrested. He whispered the last part as he looked at her urgently. He'd lost it, which was rare, but he knew why. Amy was stirring emotions in him that had been dead a long, long time. He knew that she loved him, but, he wasn't sure that he could allow himself to love her much more than he already did. He'd been more worried about her lately than he had been about Novalle, and everything had gone downhill from there.

amy smiled up at him, ignoring the harshness in his voice. that's the point, colt. if he thinks you decided to be his friend, he won't turn you in. trust me. i know josh. she sighed. he's just looking for attention. that's all he wants.

Colt sighed and walked towards Josh, stopping a few feet away, right behind the paramedics. You okay, Josh? His voice sounded sincere, but he wasn't. he held his cowboy hat gingerly and fiddled with the brim as he waited to see if the police would be involved or not.

josh glared up at him. why should you care? he whispered, managing to keep his voice sounding angry, though soft. the medics watched him as he talked to josh before motioning for him to get into the ambulance with the boy. amy followed, sitting down in the van that was now screeching from the siren.

Colt climbed into the ambulance, resentful of his stupid bad luck. Just rest, Josh. We'll talk later. He said softly as he shut the door to the ambulance and nodded to the medics that he was settled.

josh frowned grumpily before shifting uncomfortably, closing his eyes. they second his lids closed, amy moved toward colt, resting her head against his chest, wrapping her arms around him. josh began to snore, confirming amy's assumptions that he was asleep. will you stay the night with me in the hospital? he's got to have somebody with him...he doesn't have a family. amy murmered, reaching up to let her hand rest on colt's cheek, smiling softly. Colt simply nodded as he shifted, holding Amy close to him. He hated it that she seemed to like Josh so much, but he didn't say anything of it. He felt wrong waiting to see if the boy that he had beaten would be alright or not. He wasn't used to caring, he didn't want anyone to matter too him. But Amy was already wiggling past his defences, and getting to his soul underneath. It was making him uncomfortable, to know that she had grown so important to him in such a short time. He had already fallen for her, and he felt like a fool.

amy looked up at him, worry clouding her eyes. colt...i don't like him. please believe that. i love you. she murmered. scary how she could always read his mind like that, isn't it? once again, amy's attempts at memorizing his face had helped her. she could sense when something was wrong, and she could normally guess what it was.
